The following models support only manual configuration: 56WD8003S, WD8003E, and WD8013EBT. 57.Pp 58Other WD/SMC 80x3 interfaces support two types of media on a single card. 59All support the AUI media type. The other media is either BNC or UTP 60beind a transciever. Sofware cannot differentiate between BNC and UTP 61cards. On some models, the AUI port is always active. 62.Pp 63The SMC Elite Ultra and SMC EtherEZ interfaces support three media 64a single card: AUI, BNC, and UTP. If the transciever is active, the BNC 65media is selected. Otherwise, the AUI and UTP ports are both active. 66.Pp 67To enable the AUI media, select the 68.Em 10base5 69or 70.Em aui 71media type with 72.Xr ifconfig 8 's 73.Sq media 74directive. To select the other media (transciever), select the 75.Em 10base2 76or 77.Em bnc 78media type. 79.Sh DIAGNOSTICS 80.Bl -diag 81.It "we0: overriding IRQ <n> to <m>" 82The IRQ specified in the kernel configuration file is different from that 83found in the card's configuration registers. The value in the kernel 84configuration file is being overridden by the one configured into the card. 85.It "we0: can't wildcard IRQ on a <model>" 86The IRQ was wildcarded in the kernel configuration file, and the card is 87a WD8003S, WD8003E, or WD8013EBT, which do not support software IRQ 88configuration. 89.It "we0: failed to clear shared memory at offset <off>" 90The memory test was unable to clear shared the interface's shared memory 91region. This often indicates that the card is configured at a conflicting 92.Em iomem 93address. 94.El 95.Sh SEE ALSO 96.Xr ifconfig 8 , 97.Xr intro 4 , 98.Xr isa 4 99
