The ftpusers service module for PAM
provides functionality for only one PAM category:
account management.
In terms of the

parameter, this is the

feature.

The

account management component
.Pq Fn pam_sm_acct_mgmt ,
succeeds if and only if the user is listed in
.Pa /etc/ftpusers .

The following options may be passed to the authentication module:

level.

suppress warning messages to the user.
These messages include reasons why the user's authentication attempt
was declined.
