This driver include specific, enhanced support for the CMD Tech 53PCI0640 controller, and IDE DMA/Ultra-DMA support for the following 54controllers: 55.Bl -dash -compact -offset indent 56.It 57Acer labs M5229 IDE Controller 58.It 59CMD Tech PCI0643 and PCI0646 IDE Controllers 60.It 61Contaq Microsystems/Cypress CY82C693 IDE Controller 62.It 63Intel PIIX, PIIX3 and PIIX4 IDE Controllers 64.It 65Silicon Integrated System 5597/5598 IDE controller 66.It 67VIA Technologies VT82C586 and VT82C586A IDE Controllers 68.El 69Some of these contollers are only available in multifunction PCI chips. 70.Pp 71The 0x0001 flag force the 72.Nm 73driver to use DMA when there is no explicit DMA mode setting support for 74the controller but DMA is present. If the BIOS didn't set up the controller 75properly, this can cause a machine hang. 76 77.Sh BUGS 78There's no way to reliably know if a PCI064x controller is enabled or not. 79If the driver finds a PCI064x, it will assume it is enabled unless the 80PCIIDE_CMD064x_DISABLE is specified in the kernel config file. 81This will be a problem only if the controller has been disabled in the BIOS 82and another controller has been installed and uses the ISA legacy I/O ports 83and interrupts. 84.Pp 85The timings used for the PIO and DMA modes for controllers listed above 86are for a PCI bus running at 30 or 33 Mhz. This driver may not 87work properly on overclocked systems. 88 89.Sh SEE ALSO 90.Xr intro 4 , 91.Xr wd 4 , 92.Xr scsi 4 , 93.Xr wdc 4 94
